Screw-down crown
II. How to set a Seiko Mod watch?
Screwed position (position 0)
The crown is fully screwed down against the case. When the crown is in this position, the watch is guaranteed water resistant to a depth of 50 meters.
Manual winding (position 0)
Turn the crown clockwise (turning it the other way has no effect).
When setting the watch for the first time or after the watch has stopped, a minimum of 25 turns is required for partial winding and 55 turns will be required for complete winding without damaging the movement.
Date setting (position 1)
The crown is unscrewed and pulled out to the first notch (first "click").
To set the date, turn the crown clockwise or counterclockwise depending on the model. Turning it in the opposite direction manually winds the watch.
During this operation, the watch continues to run.
Time setting (position 2)
The crown is unscrewed and pulled out to the second notch (second "click"). The seconds hand is stopped, allowing you to set the time to the nearest second.
To set the hour and minutes, turn the crown in either direction.
To avoid confusion between morning and afternoon, move the hour hand to 12 o'clock. If the date changes, it is midnight.
After each use, carefully screw the crown back against the case to ensure ideal water resistance. To do this, return the crown to position 0 and apply slight pressure while screwing clockwise against the case.
Caution: the crown must never be unscrewed underwater!
